March Challenge Prompt #9

Hey readers, sorry for the later post! Things in the world are getting crazier and crazier. My serving job has officially closed until further notice and no one is buying houses right now, so my work life is coming to a standstill. I hope you all are doing well. It can be hard to try and find some pieces of happiness in all of this, but hopefully we can try to the positives!

I guess this means I have more time to dedicate towards reading and making some fun blog posts. So here is another prompt for my March Challenge!

“Read a stand-alone novel.”

I’m pretty satisfied with this prompt because one of my big goals for 2020 is to read more stand-alones. Plus I have a book that I have been very excited to start and it’s a standalone!

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller

Goodreads Synopsis:
Alessandra is tired of being overlooked, but she has a plan to gain power:

1) Woo the Shadow King.
2) Marry him.
3) Kill him and take his kingdom for herself.

No one knows the extent of the freshly crowned Shadow King’s power. Some say he can command the shadows that swirl around him to do his bidding. Others say they speak to him, whispering the thoughts of his enemies. Regardless, Alessandra knows what she deserves, and she’s going to do everything within her power to get it.

But Alessandra’s not the only one trying to kill the king. As attempts on his life are made, she finds herself trying to keep him alive long enough for him to make her his queen—all while struggling not to lose her heart. After all, who better for a Shadow King than a cunning, villainous queen?

That cover is gorgeous and the synopsis is intriguing as hell! I have read a few books by Levenseller and absolutely loved them all, so I have very high hopes for this one! If you’ve picked it up, please let me know hoe you liked it!

I hope you’re all fairing well during these trying times! If you have any content recommendations/things you would like to see please let me know in the comments! Seeing as I have a lot of time on my hands now, I would like to make some fresh and fun content. Stay healthy & safe and as always Happy Reading 🖤
