March Challenge Prompt #10

Two posts in one day?! Yes indeed! Since I didn’t post yesterday I wanted to make up for it by doing a review (which you can check out here) as well as a new prompt. Since I have so much time on my hands I am going to try and get some new ideas together and hopefully post some fun things this coming week! I’m also hoping that I will get a lot of reading done and maybe even get caught up on all these prompts. Here is the 10th prompt:

“Read a book with blue on the cover.”

If I remember correctly this will be my third and final color prompt. Meaning three of my easiest prompts are already used and there are more hard ones to come. For now I shall bask in the easiness of this prompt and choose a book I am very excited for!

The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu

Goodreads Synopsis:

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Marie Lu comes a historical YA fantasy about a musical prodigy and the dangerous lengths she’ll go to make history remember her—perfect for fans of Susanna Clarke and The Hazel Wood.

Two siblings. Two brilliant talents. But only one Mozart.

Born with a gift for music, Nannerl Mozart has just one wish—to be remembered forever. But even as she delights audiences with her masterful playing, she has little hope she’ll ever become the acclaimed composer she longs to be. She is a young woman in 18th century Europe, and that means composing is forbidden to her. She will perform only until she reaches a marriageable age—her tyrannical father has made that much clear.

And as Nannerl’s hope grows dimmer with each passing year, the talents of her beloved younger brother, Wolfgang, only seem to shine brighter. His brilliance begins to eclipse her own, until one day a mysterious stranger from a magical land appears with an irresistible offer. He has the power to make her wish come true—but his help may cost her everything.

In her first work of historical fiction, #1 New York Times bestselling author Marie Lu spins a lush, lyrically-told story of music, magic, and the unbreakable bond between a brother and sister.

I am really getting into historical fiction lately, and this story sounded way too good for me to pass up! The cover is beautiful and I hope the story is just as lovely. I’ve enjoyed Mari Lu’s writing in the past and I am excited to see what she has in store for her first historical fiction novel.

I hope you enjoyed the double posts today and that you’re getting lots of reading done! If you were choosing a book to match this prompt what book would you choose? Let me know in the comments.
Happy Reading đź–¤
