April TBR

Hello fellow book lovers! Yesterday I posted my Magical Readathon TBR and listed all seven of the books I will be reading for my OWLs. Each month of 2020 I plan to do some sort of reading challenge/game to make things a bit more fun! January I did a 25-in-five marathon. In February I read 14 romance novels for valentines day. Last month I did a random prompt jar to pick my books. Each month has been lots of fun and I’m reading more than I ever have.

This month however, I will be participating in the magical readathon and I am just going to make that the challenge instead of trying to do something else as well. I think that would just be way too much for April especially with all the other things I am dealing with in life currently.

But of course I don’t just plan to read only 7 books. I also want to use this month to get caught up on some of my ARCs! I have three (one of which is on my tbr for the OWLs) ARCs that I would like to get read and reviewed this month and here they are!

The Court of Miracles by Kester Grant
Release Date: June 2nd, 2020

Les Misérables meets Six of Crows in this page-turning adventure as a young thief finds herself going head to head with leaders of Paris’s criminal underground in the wake of the French Revolution.

In the violent urban jungle of an alternate 1828 Paris, the French Revolution has failed and the city is divided between merciless royalty and nine underworld criminal guilds, known as the Court of Miracles. Eponine (Nina) Thénardier is a talented cat burglar and member of the Thieves Guild. Nina’s life is midnight robberies, avoiding her father’s fists, and watching over her naïve adopted sister, Cosette (Ettie). When Ettie attracts the eye of the Tiger–the ruthless lord of the Guild of Flesh–Nina is caught in a desperate race to keep the younger girl safe. Her vow takes her from the city’s dark underbelly to the glittering court of Louis XVII. And it also forces Nina to make a terrible choice–protect Ettie and set off a brutal war between the guilds, or forever lose her sister to the Tiger.

The Marriage Game by Sara Desai
Release Date: June 9th, 2020
ARC Provided by NetGalley

A high stakes wager pits an aspiring entrepreneur against a ruthless CEO in this sexy romantic comedy.

After her life falls apart, recruitment consultant Layla Patel returns home to her family in San Francisco. But in the eyes of her father, who runs a Michelin starred restaurant, she can do no wrong. He would do anything to see her smile again. With the best intentions in mind, he offers her the office upstairs to start her new business and creates a profile on an online dating site to find her a man. She doesn’t know he’s arranged a series of blind dates until the first one comes knocking on her door…

As CEO of a corporate downsizing company Sam Mehta is more used to conflict than calm. In search of a quiet new office, he finds the perfect space above a cozy Indian restaurant that smells like home. But when communication goes awry, he’s forced to share his space with the owner’s beautiful yet infuriating daughter Layla, her crazy family, and a parade of hopeful suitors, all of whom threaten to disrupt his carefully ordered life.

As they face off in close quarters, the sarcasm and sparks fly. But when the battle for the office becomes a battle of the heart, Sam and Layla have to decide if this is love or just a game.

I think the rest of this month I will leave for anything I’m just randomly in the mood for. I want to keep this month fairly open but I do hope to read at least 15 books! I will update regularly with what I am reading and what I plan to pick up next! I hope you all have a fabulous reading month and that you’re safe and healthy! What book do you plan to start this month off with? Let me know!
Happy Reading 🖤
