These first 10 days of April have not been the best for me. I have been feeling like I’m in a reading slump and every time I’ve picked a book up I just wasn’t feeling it. Its also been very beautiful weather here so I’ve spent a lot of time doing yard work, or just spending time outside. So not reading or posting on here basically. I did (finally) finish two books though!

The first book I finished was for my Potions exam. The Potions exam goal was to read a book under 150 pages. For this exam I chose to read a graphic novel because it was the only book on my tbr under 150 pages.

Paper Girls Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan

I didn’t care for this one at all. I love Vaughan’s Saga series and I expected to enjoy this one as well, but that was not the case. Nothing about this book was for me and I gave it a 1-star sadly.

The second book I finished was for my Transfiguration Exam. For Transfiguration I had to read a book with shapeshifting in it. I read:

Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin

I rated this book a 3.5 stars. I have been enjoying historical fictions lately and wanted to give this one a try. Some parts were a bit slow for me, but overall I enjoyed this book. I will be continuing the series eventually, because I have a feeling the next book may be even better than this first one.

While I finished these two books, I also started two more books. I am currently reading The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli and The Marriage Game by Sara Desai.

ALSO apparently Herbology is not “Read a book that starts with an I” the font was just confusing and it is actually “Read a book that starts with an M.” I’m shocked and thankful I wasn’t the only person out there that was confused. I will be replacing Into the Crooked Place by Alexandra Christo with The Marriage Game by Sara Desai. But I will still try to get to Into the Crooked Place sometime this month!

I hope this coming week will be more productive and I can finish some books and make more posts. My goal for this next 10 day period will be to finish at least 3 books! Is it possible? Yes. Can I actually do it? ….yes?…. We shall see!

How many books have you read so far this month? Let me know in the comments!
Happy Reading🖤

  1. Ahh too bad Paper Girls wasn’t that good in your opinion, I haven’t read it yet either. Wolf by wolf was similar to what I thought, It’s such a strange story that surprises. How long do the OWLs last? To the end of the month?

  2. You can definitely smash that goal! Glad to hear you’ve been enjoying the weather as well. Unfortunately screens are never bright enough to blog outside, so I’ve had to do one or the other! Sorry that you didn’t enjoy Paper Girls. I’ve not read it myself, though I did enjoy Saga. Hope you find some 5 star reads this month! x

  3. You’re doing great! I’ve finished my Arithmancy exam (MySpace/OurPlanet: Change is Possible by Jeca Taudte) and Defense Against the Dark Arts exam (Coming Home to Maple Cottage by Holly Martin). Now I’m working on Ancient Runes and still have three to go!
